Brc success in March!
In March we were delighted to have achieved another amazing milestone at Simpsons Beverages as we achieved a Double AA Grade BRC Global Standards Certification! BRC Certification is the world’s leading accreditation assuring the quality, safety and operational criteria of food and drink manufacturers; and we achieved the highest grade. Verifying we use reliable processes, reduce risk and provide protection to the end consumer. Our business is one of over 25,000 certified suppliers who operate in over 123 countries.
For the past two years we’ve been busy researching and developing fresh new replacements to sugar, helping our customers to adapt and reduce the amount of sugar in their soft drinks ranges. The work of our new product development and production teams has enabled us to supply hundreds of bespoke, great tasting, healthy, lower sugar alternatives, made with the finest quality ingredients. Our two years of preparation ensured all our customers were consulted and received refined recipes that work for them. Everything was covered from the recipes to labels. We’re proud of our dedicated team who ensured all our customers were covered and ready ahead of the tax that came into effect in April.
A long, hot summer!
Thanks to the amazing summer weather this year our production team were delighted to announce they reached new heights! In May alone they hit over 800,000 litres produced, which equates to over 6 million litres of ready-to-drink beverages! Keeping the nation refreshed this summer. Thanks to all our clients for helping us reach this huge figure!
Macmillans cake sale
27th September saw the annual Macmillan’s cake sale to raise money to help beat cancer. Of course we were all very keen to get involved (some baking and all eating!) Special thanks went to the very talented bakers, Ketsia, Taryn, Pollyanna, Suzanne and Josie for the stunning cakes, sponges, slices and gateauxs. All devoured by our wonderful team!

Building on our expertise
This year we have expanded our team by adding six new members! We welcomed Maciej, Agata, Colin, Suzanne, Darryl and Darren. Maciej joined the Mixing Team, Agata joined Quality Control, Colin is our new interim Operations Manager and is helping us to help smooth out the bottlenecks! Suzanne is our new Transport Coordinator, Darryl is helping with stock control and Darren is a new Production Operator. We’re delighted to have these new members join and strengthen our team.
We like to support local charities and were delighted to provide a little festive cheer to homeless in Blackpool. We hope that a warm drink of our favourite Christmas mulling punch will relieve the misery of cold streets for some for even a few minutes. Here's some of our production team proudly posing with our heart-warming mulling syrup. We dream of a world where homelessness is not an issue and therefore were pleased to be able to contribute to our local charity, Streetlife.
To thank our fantastic team for all the hard work they have put in this year we recently celebrated with a Christmas lunch, Simpsons style! Serving delicious turkey, home-made stuffing and cranberry rolls alongside rich mince pies and brandy cream. What a fantastic end to a jam-packed year of change, new developments and growth.
